Terry Nelson began his career in the St. Louis Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program in 1984, eventually working his way through the program to reach Journeyman status. Terry came to McBride and Son Contracting as a carpenter in 1990 where he worked on many residential and commercial jobs as a project Foreman. In May of 1995, Terry was given a management position at McBride and Son Contracting. With the merger of McBride and Son Contracting and Builder’s Bloc in 1998, Terry quickly was recognized for his leadership within the company and was asked to oversee all aspects of Builder’s Bloc’s carpentry work in the Carbondale, Illinois area, as well as major housing projects at Scott Air Force Base and then Whitman Air Force base. Terry was managing nearly 225 carpenters on any given day during this period. When the Whitman Air Force Base project was completed in 2011, Terry returned to St. Louis as the St. Louis County Carpentry Division Manager. In 2014 Terry was promoted to General Manager of Builder’s Bloc’s Carpentry Division, overseeing all day to day operations of field personnel, managers, and estimating.
